A Mother's Love

If I was to choose a colour to define a mother's love

It would be white - white like

The symbols of purity, sheer innocence

It is one of the rare things that remais untarnished for ever

It is such a mystery - that unconditional love

That a mother has for her child

She gives her love and care right from the start

She nurtures her baby within her womb

Whispers sweet comforting words

And the baby feels peace and joy, and giggles

She talks to her baby all the time

Prepares for its coming into this world

When it is born, it is her most precious

Even more than her own life

She devotes herself to her baby

Making sure one fine day he or she

Will grow into a fine young man or lady

As my pen scribbles this tribute to her

I am unconditionally and infinitely grateful to God

For giving me the greatest mum in the world

And blessed be every soul who feels the same way too

And blessed be every mother borne to this world
